The important thing for parents to realize is that these type of experiences can offer children opportunities for both social and emotional growth. If your child happens to be interested in sports, there are both overnight and day camps that area available to attend. There are also countless other types that are available. If your child happens to have an interest in cooking, there are camps that are focused on that theme.
